Today, I Learned.....

-How my daughter's faith in our Lord NEVER ceases to amaze me and bring tears to my eyes.
*
*
-That sometimes scriptures that I have heard all my life but never really understood can finally 'click' and bring new meaning and focus into your life (like this scripture verse, that was explained HERE and taught to me today by This Girl)

*
*
-That I could get a tattoo of my dear husband on my forehead with the caption, "Neatest, Sweetest Man on the Planet" and it still wouldn't be enough to let him know that I know that I truly have the most loving and caring man at my side. (If this was too ooey- gooey for you (and I am not married to you)- it is okay- it wasn't for you!)
*
*
-And finally, I learned that Jack CAN be good at church...(most of the time, he just chooses not to!)

A Birthday Blog!

Yesterday was the Birthday of my mil and sil. I love these gals!

Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great one!!
Last week was my birthday. We didn't do anything special- but in the middle of the day, I decided to get creative and make a cake. We had a bunch of raspberries, so I went and picked them and put them in a real whip cream cake. (I heart real whip cream made from whipping cream!!!) We also had mint leaves that I put on top too- just to decorate!
So after I was done, I was cleaning up in the kitchen and Nolan and I had this conversation:

N: Mom, You should totally be on Chopped.

Me: Oh, thanks Honey, but that show is for professional chefs and cooks. I don't have those skills. They use food that I would have no idea of how to prepare and cook.

Me: I do have to say that I think it would be fun if they had a housewife version of that show.

N: What?

Me: Like where they give moms simple items to work with like a cake mix, hot dogs and mac n cheese.

N: Yeah- you could put the hot dogs in the mac n cheese and then put it in a cake mix and bake it.

Me: ????? - ummmm....yeah ....maybe?!?!?

Needless to say, I don't think I am gonna be on Chopped anytime soon!

Baby I'm Back!

I love taking trips- but don't like blogging afterwards cuz downloading all the pics takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r!

Anyway- we have been back for awhile and have had a great time with Grandma Sharon in Seattle. Before we left, Gran. Sharon's boyfriend, Paul, took Carli to a golf course to practice her swing!

And swing she did!

Jack came too, but was more interested in picking up stray balls, rather than swinging at them.

Then we went to Great Wolf Lodge. (An indoor water park in Grand Mound)

The kids had a blast in the water and they even had a wizard quest game that took us hours of walking around the hotel to find all of the clues.

Their buffet was super kid- friendly. The kids loved their fries in the shape of happy faces.

We went to the Aqaurium. We all enjoy sea-life and had a great time looking at all of the cool sealife.Bridge, would make a good jelly-fish....no?!?!?!?

Then we went to Seattle for the rest of the week. We went to the Science Center. Here are the kids in the butterfly house.

We saw some gorgeous butterflies. Jack was jumpy, but inthralled.
I didn't realize how big the Science Center is. We spent pretty much the whole day there. It was pretty awesome!
We also went to some fun attractions down by the Space Needle. After coming off of one of these rides, Bridger tripped and face-planted onto the asphalt. He got pretty banged up.Here he is the next morning. He woke up and was himself again! (He's a trooper!)
While we were in Seattle, Grandma rented a gorgeous lake-house for all of us.
My cousin Raina and her family came over for a night of fun!

It was the first time that my kids got to snuggle with her new baby, Harrison.

We put all the cousins together for a head-shot! I love this on of Harrison. He is suddenly aware of his cousins. (Priceless look on his face too!)
Thanks Grandma Sharon!
We had a great time!!!
