Lego Liopleurodon

Some good friends of ours gave Nolan this for Christmas. He has been totally enthralled by it- asking everyone what their favorite dinosaur is.
Nolan discovered that his favorite non- dinosaur from the prehistoric period is the liopleurodon. (Apparently anything that swam or flew was not a dinosaur- but rather a prehistoric reptile- who knew?!?)
When Nolan gets obsessed with a new creature- he has to recreate it (a drawing, a painting, or a sculpture)
He recreated this:

From these:

I thought that it was awesome- but now have to convince Nolan that we can't keep it forever- cuz his siblings want to use the legos too!

Nolan wants to know, "What is your favorite Dinosaur?" (Or Non- dinosaur- as the case may be!)

Restless in Washington!

Jon and I had a date on Sat. (to celebrate his birthday) and we got talkin'! I mentioned to him how monotonous life seemed these days and how restless and bored that I have been lately. Jon said that it sounded like I was having my mid-life crisis a little early! (He is always so comforting- uh?) Finally he said that I got like this when each of the kids were babies- (wanting to do things, but feeling like I was tried down to the baby!) I guess that he is right! But I shouldn't feel like this- look how fast they grow!
Jack, newbornJack 5 months
Bridger- 5 months
Bridger- 3 years
Carli- 2 years Carli- 6 years

Nolan- 1 year

Nolan- 8 years

I am sure that one day, many years from now, Jon and I will be on a date- and I will be complaining because my kids are grown and I am bored!- There's just no winning this one- uh?

A Husband's Ignorance...A Wife's Bliss???

This post is for all the husbands of Blogspotters! Jon and I were talking the other day about the things that wives put on their blogspots and how their husbands rarely know what pics or info about them is being posted (not to worry- it was a very light and funny conversation). I can only imagine how a husband is at church, going through a happy Sunday- when someone comes up to him, snickering and says, "We liked your picture on your wife's blogspot."- Then he has to hunt down his wife and figure out exactly what the damage was. This Blog and This Blog can be examples of this. (I know that they got me laughin'!) What do you think? Not to worry- Jon Has approved of this pic just to prove my point! We were dating and running out of things to do together. I decided to give him a facial- which he grudgingly aggreed to- and now he always says, "Why don't you give me facials anymore?!?!" (Haven't you ever wondered where Jonny got that baby-soft skin?!?)

Book Recommendation!

Well- I got done reading this

and this

and this!

I have to admit- I wasn't expecting to like it a whole bunch after Harry Potter- but it was pretty awesome! I really enjoyed them- and just went from one to another as fast as I could. I think that my fav. thing about them is that the author is LDS- and she has romance in the books without them going too far (considering they are for young adults!) The 4th book comes out in Aug.!

I got an email from my friend (Hi Stac!) and she said that they read them for her book club group. I would never have thought to discuss them. But I met with a bunch of ladies today to let our kids play- and found ourselves talkin' about them. I was so surprised that everyone had a different view on them. Some Loved Edward, (Myself included) Some loved Jacob, and some thought that they were too scary to finish the whole series (really?~?)

I guess the way I feel is that if you are gonna fall for a mythological creature- then I would fall for the one that has the patience and wisdom of 100 year old- with the body of a 17 year old!

What are your thoughts?

My next book adventure is this:

I went to a friend's house to return something and asked if they had and recommended any good books -Ohmygosh! It was like asking the Prophet if he knew of a good church to join.

I walked out of there with a small stack of books and got ideas for others to read later.

Mother and Daughter, Cindy and Michelle told me that this was a good series (I am on ch. 2- will have to write about it later!)

Eatin' up the Moments!

I know that I post a lot of pics of my kids (I try to post a lot because our families live so far away)- but I love Nakie- bath pictures of babies. Since Jack- Jack is our last, I am trying to suck up all these cutesy moments b4 they are gone!
I will miss this in a couple of months when Jack sits up in the bathtub!

My Dress- up Doll!

Much to Carli's dismay,
I could put a different dress on her everyday!
How cute and sweet a lil' girl can be
with a dress, shoes and the right accessory!

We go to the store and I want to know,
"Do you like the pink one, or the one with the bow?"

But she says, "I don't want one
and pulls me toward the boy-toys, that to her, look fun!
It makes me sad that we don't agree
She wants to look, "Cool"- but I say "What about we make you Pretty?"

But only a mother can seriously hope
that her tom-boy daughter will someday have to cope....

With her own lil' daughter so sweet and so fair
who loves her mommy fo fuss over her clothes and hair!!!
Please keep in mind that this mother had to beg and say, "please"
To get this daughter to smile and show off her "Cheese!"

The Chocolate Bomb!

I swear that the 80s are coming back! I can remember every holiday that we had in elementary school that we were supposed to bring a treat in to share for our class party! I can remember sometimes begging my mom to make her molded chocolates! I thought that they were THE BOMB! I can still remember the lil' wreaths that she used to make for Christmas, that were different colors, infused with mint extract. I loved them! Even in church, b4 I was a member, in primary I would only go to church to get candy (My views have changed a lil' bit since) and if I was really lucky, there would be a molded chocolate sucker! But it has been years since I have even seen these, let alone thought about making them!
For an Enrichment activity, we got an idea to make those chocolates. What the Heck!?!? It was such an 80s thing- I didn't think that they would turn out as cute as they did! They are so cute to look at- in cellophane bagies, tied with pretty ribbon in bows! I couldn't believe that they still sold the molds. (Some ladies still had molds from the 80s!)
That was what my kids gave their teachers for Valentine's Day! They are so cute and remind me of my childhood, that I almost want to keep the ones that I have left over on the counter, just to look at them!

All You Need is LOVE!

Who Do I Love?

Heavenly Father: So thankful for my existance here and all that I have been given! I am thankful for the ways that He communicates with me and answers my prayers!

The Savior: For His example. For all that He did for me!

Jon: (my Valentine) cuz he is so sweet and thoughtful! I think one of the secrets of our marriage is that we try (hard) to respect each other. I couldn't imagine spending eternity with anyone else!

Nolan: (my oldest son) He is so creative and talented! He has really developed a special relationship with me lately- He tells me that he loves me a lot more!

Carli: (My (only) baby- girl) I love her heart! She loves so many people and I am noticing how whe wears her heart on her sleeve. She has such a love for the Lord and Savior and such a desire to learn more about them!

Bridger: (My Bridgie- poo-poos) What can I say about Bridge? I think that every inch of him is adorable. He is constantly hugging people. People that he has hugged recently are: Some lady at Mcdonalds, the guy that re-finished our floor, and a R.S sister that I had just met. He makes me giggle!

Jack- Jack: (My Sweet Baby) I couldn't ask for a better lil' guy! He is so easy- going. But he loves to smile at people. Anytime someone smiles at him, his whole face lights up and he smiles back!- So Adorable!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Who Do You Love?

I chose to put this Kenny Rogers song on my playlist because it is my favorite love song! (I know, I'm a dork- but I have loved ever it since I was lil')

Sorry for all this waisted space- I can't erase it- The Blogger site is not being a friend right now- I will try later!

Harry Potter Series- So Stinkin' Good!

Okay- so for todays blog I am gonna rave about Harry Potter! If you are tired of me going on and on about it, there is hope! I have finished the series, so this will be the last post about HP for awhile (Until the 6th movie comes out in Nov.) Also- you can read an old blog- or wait for a new one!
First of all, just let me say, that this woman is a genius! Someone give her tons of money!! (Oh! wait- they already did!- and she earned every penny!)

J.K. Rowling is a fantastic story-teller!

But the only reason why I got through 3 books in 2 weeks is because of this guy!

Hats- off to Jim Dale for his Audio- Performance! He was amazing- he did all the voices of the characters. Even Jon (Who had already read the whole series) would sit and listen to them with me- cuz he said that there was a different quality of listening to them, than just reading them! I wish that I could tell you the ending- but you will have to read it for yourself!

My next book adventure is this:
(I'm already 1/2 way through the first one!)
I am excited for the movie to come out in Dec.
This Guy plays the lead and he was also in a Harry Potter movie!

I love reading and stories! It gives my mind something to ponder over, while I go through the mundane ritual of cleaning the house, doing the laundry, washing the dishes, preparing dinner and all of the other 'so- fun' things that I have to do every day!

What is your mind conjuring up while your hands are busy?

Girls Night Out-2

So This Girl told me about this! We decided to go!

Then we called up these fun ladies again and......

Had a Frickin' Blast!!!!
Then we went for ice cream!

But the best part is when Leah did this throughout the whole movie!

The funny thing is that she didn't even know who Hannah Montana was b4 when went, but she didn't let that stop her-
She sure knows how to get jiggy wit' it!-uh!?!

Silly Dillys!

Here are some fun pics of the kids. One day Bridger was in his jammies way too long during the day. The kids got creative and this was the result!
(No 3- year old was harmed or dis-figured in anyway for these photos.) The kids stuffed baby blankets inside Bridger's jammies- It looked hilarious up close! And of course, he was being quite the ham- cuz he knew it was cute!
My lil' Chunky Monkey!
One day I put Jack in his walker and went to the back of the house. When I came back a few minutes later, I was surprised to find that Jack was nice enough to put himself to sleep for me. Only he didn't put his head to the side of the seat as he usually does....
But rather, face down!
What a Nut!
Carli has bad ears and has tubes put in for the 2nd time. She likes her regular check-ups to her ear dr. cuz if she has to have her ear cleaned out with a special vacuum- thing (Which she usually does) then he makes her a balloon creation. Usually he makes her an animal, but today- she said that she wanted a hat- and he made a viking-lookin' thing- she barely got out of the door to his offiice with it- and everyone just giggled in the waiting room when she was done!

AAARRRRH! I'm a Viking!!!

The Good Life!

Have you ever wanted to go swimming in your indoor pool in Feb., while a maid comes in and tidies up? Well- we got to- for 2 days only! (The kids were in heaven!) No- we didn't go out of town- but we did stay in a hotel! We got our floors refinished and had to stay somewhere for 2 days! We stayed just down the street at the Holiday Inn Express. We just left this morning- and it was a true fight with the kids to convince them that we HAD to leave. Between the swimming and the- anything- you- want- to- eat- contintal- breakfeast- they were hooked!
Sorry- I couldn't get to my camera in the kitchen- (once they began)- so I used Nolan's kids- camera- anyway- you get the idea!

Hot Tubbin'

Hangin' out!

How Come they never act this cute to each other at home?

About a month ago,we called the Cutting Edge Hardwood, and they came and did our floor this weekend.
This is a before pic of the floors. Anyone who has come over- knows how really scratched and yucky they were. (In fact I don't think that I have ever seen worse floors) Even though they don't look bad in this pic!

We had a darker finish put on- even though I think that I would have gone even darker-but it is a nice transition with the maple-colored wood in the rest of the house!

I will have to post more pics when we get the furnitiure moved back in and everything is more normal!
