Eggs-tra Cute!

I saw these egg trees at Joanns and TJMaxx and LOVED them. But they were $15.00 each. And since I had already bought a bunch of Easter stuff, I felt guilty spending that much ($30 for 2 trees)

So I decided to get crafty! (After all I do own 2 glue guns, right?!?!)

The dollar store has been my friend in crafting lately. Once there, I found styrafoam cones, foam discs, and moss and accent flowers.

The eggs have been a purchase this year, so I already had plenty of them.

I glued the foam disc to the bottom of the foam cone.

Then applied moss, generously.

Then the eggs in no particular order.

Finish it off with the accent flowers and some strads of grapevine and Ta Da!!!

But, I didn't stop there! I didn't mention the true inspiration for this project.

I found these lovely little urn/goblet things made out of milk- glass for just 75 cents each. I just placed it on top and now it is darling!

So nice, I did it twice!

Book Recommendation

So I started posting my book recommendations on Goodreads, but I am still getting questions about what I have been reading and why didn't I put it on this il' bloggie. ( guess my blog is more interesting than my Goodreads list). So I will post more book recommends here too.

The Vampire Diaries.

I was told that it was written in the earlier 90's about a Vampire who falls in love with a high school girl...oh! and he can read minds.

Wait a minute...Doesn't this sound familiar? Didn't I already read this series? My immediate reaction was, "No Stephenie, how could you????"

But guess what. It is incredibly different. (yep and that is all you are gonna get!)

You don't fall in love with the girl and the vampire like you do in Twilight. In fact it took me quite a few books to even like the girl cuz she starts out a complete snob.

Books 1,2,3,&4 came out in the 90's, but the author started a continuing trilogy (that is a lot darker than her first 4 books) but I still liked it (yes, I know I'm strange. It is what gives makes me colorful and fun to be around-lol!!!)

Oh! And it is really funny that in books 1-4 there is no modern technology (cell phones, computers, etc) But in book 5 (that starts 1 week after that 4the one left off) the characters all have cell phones and the diary in written on a computer instead of a notebook. You gotta love modern technology! (I know I and this bloggie do!)

Anyway- It was a fun read, so when your love of Twilight fades, Pick up The Vampire Diaries! I am done with the series, so if yo are local and would like to borrow it... let me know!

Wedded Bliss!

The RS Pres. called last Sunday night and asked me if she could have a minute of my time. At first I was worried. (What did I do???)
There is a woman in our ward whose daughter was getting married and help was needed. Oh! Did I mention that she was getting married that Fri. (which gave us 5 days to plan, prepare (and atlas) decorate.
What the RS. Pres. didn't now was that this was a small dream of mine. Weddings- ahhh!

Nothing was really planned when we (me and my super flower-oriented friend of mine) got there so we had a blank slate to work with. (Ahhh!- Another dream of mine!)

The wedding banner (With this ring)

A guest book (a dollar store find with a lil' modge podge and scrapbooking supplies)

My first wedding cake (Okay it is flawed- but all in all- it turned out pretty darn cute!)

Some of the decorated room!
Weddings make me happy! I love special days (but will never have another one in my wedding dress).

:Springing" Through the Window!

I have been looking at this window decor that I put together a while ago. I have thinking that it needs something. Some color. Some va va vaboom!
I was blog hopping this morning and came across a window with scrapbook paper in it.

With some paper and some birdie cut-outs and a sweet little nest- what's not to love! Best of all- this project was free!

I am really beginning to love Spring Decor!!!

Got Green???

A naughty lil' leprechaun visited last night and turned our milk green.

Carli was afraid it was minty.

Nolan is appalled by all things St. Pat's Day and wouldn't touch it.

Bridger laughed and said, "I've never seen that before."

I think the best part was when Carli went to get milk for her cereal and Jonny and I exchanged smiles. Sometimes I love being the parent!

Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A New Soot!

Jack was being pretty quiet on Sat. He had be playing on the kitchen floor with some toys, so we weren't that worried about what he could get into. Then, I walked into the kitchen and was crossed between laughing or crying. Jack gt in the pellet stove. Not just a little. Ashes were everywhere and there was a huge black spot on his head that I had to wash 3 times before I could see his skin.
I left to start the shower and I stopped to grab the camera (to document this fine event) and when I came back, Mr. Naughtypants helped himself to the warm water while still fully dressed.
That morning when I dressed him in that cute, new white shirt, I thought, "I hope he doesn't get any stains on this today." Other moms can foresee the future, why can't I?

Funny Bunnies

Easter is hopping into our happy little nest! I have never really put out many Easter decorations- but thanks to Molly, I found the cutest stuff at Ross (and for the BEST prices)! I fell in love with these bunnies at once!
($12.99 each)
($3.99 for the basket and $2.99 for the nest)-
I wish I grabbed more!

I am NOT pregnant, but apparently going through a "nesting" phase!

The hutch is Spring-y now!

I have always wanted one of these branched decorations- I had the tin vase and the branches came from a friend's yard. I just bought the hanging eggs at ross for $4

Now I have cheap Easter decor that doesn't look cheap!

You Have to URN It!

So I found this blog that I am totally inspired by. She is Awesome! I am getting so much inspiration from this lady and I don't even know her. (I am being greedy and not ready to share her blog with you yet-(but I will someday!) But for now here is a sneak preview of something that I learned from her.

You buy 3 urns. (hers came from a thrift store- I got mine at a $ store). Spray paint them black.

Add a styrofoam ball covered in moss. and tie a little gingham ribbon to them and Voila!

Now go URN one yourself!!!

Happy Feet!

Jack is sooooo pleased with his new shoes. I put them on him and he stomps around the house like it is the biggest treat ever. I think this is the first time that he has really had a pair of hard-soled shoes. He is funny to watch!

He doesn't care what he is wearing, he wants his shoes on. Last night, he was trying to figure out why he couldn't wear them with his footed jammies. He decided to carry them around the house instead, unable to be apart from them.
I was sooooo pleased with the price of them. I considered buying them from a local store here for $40 plus Jon gets a small discount through his work. So I thought that I would get a good deal- but WOW! $40 shoes for $8- that is just insane! (Thanks Amy for pointing this deal out to me in OK) I LOVE Ross! (The store, not a man) I bought some super cute Easter stuff there that I will post about later.

The Face of an Angel!!!

We had a great and relaxing time in Ok!

In addition to being quite the parents, Amy and Nathan are also lovely hosts and the kids had a blast

(okay- it helps that they have a wii).

I got lots and lots of snuggles in with the lil' one that made me an aunt. I miss squishing him already!
This picture does not show how beautiful and soft this blessing outfit really is.

It was GREAT to spend time with family!!!

How long til summer?
