Every year we have a bonfire in the back lot of our house. The garden gets cleaned out and all old plants and tumbleweeds gets put on the pile. We usually save our Christmas tree (It usually stays in the backyard or side ward until March) and then we say goodbye to it and thank it for a nice Christmas. (not really- we just burn it- it all kinda started when we moved into our new house and we didn't ask anyone that first year if the garbage trucks would take our tree cuz rules are different for county than those of city- so instead- my dear hubby just kept it, it dried out and we lit it up)
The funny part is that we didn't have a fresh tree this year. Our first Christmas without one in this house- so our neighbors kept their fresh tree for us so we could continue with our tradition. (Thanks Moon Family) I know- we are knida dorks- but it is entertaining for the kids (and me).
