Vacation!

Wanna know what is a real bummer? When you are leaving out of the front door for vacation and you totally loose your camera. That's right- poof!- Gone! I still have no idea where it is and it is driving me crazy! But anyway- here are some photos that we had taken with Jon's family in Utah!
(This super talented Lady took them and she as more of them on her blog!)
We were gone for a week and had a super duper great, relaxing time. We came back minus 2 kids (Nolan and Carli stayed with Gramma/pa Jacobs to help out on their ranch) We will pick them up in a little over a week!

Today, I Learned.....

-How my daughter's faith in our Lord NEVER ceases to amaze me and bring tears to my eyes.
*
*
-That sometimes scriptures that I have heard all my life but never really understood can finally 'click' and bring new meaning and focus into your life (like this scripture verse, that was explained HERE and taught to me today by This Girl)

*
*
-That I could get a tattoo of my dear husband on my forehead with the caption, "Neatest, Sweetest Man on the Planet" and it still wouldn't be enough to let him know that I know that I truly have the most loving and caring man at my side. (If this was too ooey- gooey for you (and I am not married to you)- it is okay- it wasn't for you!)
*
*
-And finally, I learned that Jack CAN be good at church...(most of the time, he just chooses not to!)

A Birthday Blog!

Yesterday was the Birthday of my mil and sil. I love these gals!

Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great one!!
Last week was my birthday. We didn't do anything special- but in the middle of the day, I decided to get creative and make a cake. We had a bunch of raspberries, so I went and picked them and put them in a real whip cream cake. (I heart real whip cream made from whipping cream!!!) We also had mint leaves that I put on top too- just to decorate!
So after I was done, I was cleaning up in the kitchen and Nolan and I had this conversation:

N: Mom, You should totally be on Chopped.

Me: Oh, thanks Honey, but that show is for professional chefs and cooks. I don't have those skills. They use food that I would have no idea of how to prepare and cook.

Me: I do have to say that I think it would be fun if they had a housewife version of that show.

N: What?

Me: Like where they give moms simple items to work with like a cake mix, hot dogs and mac n cheese.

N: Yeah- you could put the hot dogs in the mac n cheese and then put it in a cake mix and bake it.

Me: ????? - ummmm....yeah ....maybe?!?!?

Needless to say, I don't think I am gonna be on Chopped anytime soon!

Baby I'm Back!

I love taking trips- but don't like blogging afterwards cuz downloading all the pics takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r!

Anyway- we have been back for awhile and have had a great time with Grandma Sharon in Seattle. Before we left, Gran. Sharon's boyfriend, Paul, took Carli to a golf course to practice her swing!

And swing she did!

Jack came too, but was more interested in picking up stray balls, rather than swinging at them.

Then we went to Great Wolf Lodge. (An indoor water park in Grand Mound)

The kids had a blast in the water and they even had a wizard quest game that took us hours of walking around the hotel to find all of the clues.

Their buffet was super kid- friendly. The kids loved their fries in the shape of happy faces.

We went to the Aqaurium. We all enjoy sea-life and had a great time looking at all of the cool sealife.Bridge, would make a good jelly-fish....no?!?!?!?

Then we went to Seattle for the rest of the week. We went to the Science Center. Here are the kids in the butterfly house.

We saw some gorgeous butterflies. Jack was jumpy, but inthralled.
I didn't realize how big the Science Center is. We spent pretty much the whole day there. It was pretty awesome!
We also went to some fun attractions down by the Space Needle. After coming off of one of these rides, Bridger tripped and face-planted onto the asphalt. He got pretty banged up.Here he is the next morning. He woke up and was himself again! (He's a trooper!)
While we were in Seattle, Grandma rented a gorgeous lake-house for all of us.
My cousin Raina and her family came over for a night of fun!

It was the first time that my kids got to snuggle with her new baby, Harrison.

We put all the cousins together for a head-shot! I love this on of Harrison. He is suddenly aware of his cousins. (Priceless look on his face too!)
Thanks Grandma Sharon!
We had a great time!!!

Catching Up!

Grandma Sharon is here and I thought I would take a minute and post some of the things that we have been doing lately before there is more to post. So here goes. Bridger graduated from preschool (Okay- he did- but he didn't. He is old enough to start kinerg. next year- but we are holding him back one year- (long story that starts with decisions with our first child) So he will go again to preschool next year- but it was super cute that Miss Kori had a graduation day for all her students. Nolan had a recorder concert before school was out. I have been trying to download a video on the flip- but it is not working- aarrrgh! Anyway-when Nolan played his recorder for us at home- he was playing fine- but it sounded so squeaky. But when we went to see all of the 4th graders playing together- it was pretty awesome! (It sounded really cool!)

Carlita Bonita is now a new member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She did a great job (even though her toe or hair bobbed up and Jon had to dunk her twice and the water was ICE Cold)- other than her shaking violently afterward- it went quite well!

Oh! and I was asked to give a talk at her baptism at which I bawled like a baby. (It is not every day that your ONLY baby girl makes such an important decision.) (The kids who were baptized from our ward)

It was a great day and her friend Camri was able to be baptised that day too. It was cute to see them compare their "cold water" stories (and giggles.)
See Ya' after next week!!!

"Calgon...Take me Away!"

I'm gonna have to take a blogging break this week (unless I find time...somewhere!?!) THIS girl is doing THIS on Sat. To learn more about this go HERE. We are busy preparing for that and 3000 other things that need to be done before the kids get outta school. And Scout Camp is next week (did I mention I have a scout calling). It seems like we are busier these next couple of weeks than we have been for awhile. (Isn't your schedule supposed to get easier when school gets out?)

See Ya' Next .....Whenever!!!

P.S.- Do you think I could put a sign in my laundry room that says:
"For Same Day Service:
Do it Yourself!"

Dinosaur Valley

Every year the second graders put on a play called, Dinosaur Valley. Neither of the kids have ever had a speaking part (They just sang with the other 2nd graders). So you can imagine my surprise when Carli came home and announced that she had a speaking part. What was her role in the play??? She was a Cycad. Duh? (Actually it took me a minute to figure out that she was a type of plant). (Cycad # 17 to be exact)
She only had one line- but still- I was so excited!!! You know there is a small amount of pride that a parent takes on when they get to watch their precious lil' one perform on stage ("Yes!- that is MY child up there!"- nod, nod...wink, wink)

She gave 3 performances today. I went to the morning one (which Nolan also saw cuz it was an assembly for all the students at the school) and Jon and Bridger went to the one this evening.

We got her on the Flip- recorder- but it doesn't zoom in very far and I can't edit the video- so it is kinda long- but she is the 2nd one to speak.

She says: " Not to worry! With Terry's thick hide, he doesn't give a hoot! Besides, in the opinion of Lady Triceratops, Terry's right cute!"

Hollywood here we come
(okay- maybe not!)

Two Timer!

My Dear Blog, (The Jacobs 6)

You know how much you mean to me. You are so important and I don't know what I would do without you. We have shared so much together and you have really been there for me to express my needs and experiences and those of the ones that I love.

But lately I have been feeling that you are not meeting all of my needs. I need more. I need a blog that will let me express my creative individualism.

I have come across a blog called, the Joys of Home that inspired me and made me want to create and get crafty. I can't change you just for my needs, so I have created another blog, HERE that will let me post my creations and ideas. I will post things that I have decorated or old finds that I have breathed new life into. I will also post some of my finds from my recent trip to Seattle on there.

Call me what you will. I am all ready for your name calling. (like "Cheap Blogger," or "Blogging Polygamist") I can take it. But we live in a world where I don't have to choose. I can have two blogs. So I will. (Just be happy I am not starting a book or cooking blog too.) It will be hard to deliver the time and attention it will take to maintain 2 blogs. My new blog will never be as good or take the place in my heart of my first blog.

One day I know you will forgive me for blogging behind your back,

Yours Truly,
Terramisu

P.S.- Yeah I know... my sense of humor lacks some!
