De-Santa-Fi-cation!

Have you ever watched The Santa Clause 2? Do you remember the part where Tim Allen starts the de-santa-fication? Where he isn't gonna be Santa anymore until he gets married. So to find a wife, he starts to de-santa-fy, and looses his big tummy, white hair and beard. This all make a BIG difference with his appearance.
From this

To this

And finally to this:
That is what I feel that we have to do every year just after Christmas. It is a lot of work to lay out those Christmas decorations, all over the house with decor and music (and this blog) and every other touch of Christmas that you create during the month of December.
But now the hardest part of all! The De-santafication of your "December body"! Every new year is a new plan to make yourself and your life and definitely your body, better! If only it was that easy to be Tim Allen and to slim down within a day or two. To change your bad habits and create a "better" you! Are you ready to start fresh? Then let the De-Santa-fication process start working on all of us! (And may the good Lord help us with all our goals this year!- I know I am gonna need it!) Goodbye Hot Cocoa- I shall miss you as my mid-morning treat!

T's New Years Goals!
#1 Loose this $@%# weight that I can't seem to get rid of!
#2- Read Scriptures as a family again- we have taken too long of a break
#3- Wake up earlier- I don't like leaving my cozy bed in the winter!
-My other goals are personal ones like being a better wife, mother and person!

What are your New Year Goals?

Book and Movie Recommendation

Thanks to THIS girl, I was able to borrow and read this book! It was a great book! I really enjoyed it and can see why it is a popular novel to read in book groups. Now I am excited to see the movie!

Oh! And speaking of movies, (Thanks to the same gal, who celebrated her birthday and was kind enough to let me tag along)I saw this movie.

It was really sweet (and a little sad). The ending really touched me as a mother and a wife! There is a little adultery in it which I wasn't loving- but other than that, it was a really neat story of living life with an unusual circumstance!

Yo Ho Ho!

Merry Christmas from our blog to yours!
Hope you have a bountiful booty !!!
(I know mine is- lol!)
Many have asked where we got these taken. Do you remember this post? We went to Leavenworth and found a few charming places to get your pic taken. You could get old western, victorian, German or pirate inspired pics taken. I thought western would be cute, but Jon said it has been done and done again, so lets do something different. You sure don't see many pirate family pics!- AAAARRRGH!

Christmas Eve at the Jacobs 6 House!

Here it is Christmas Eve and still snowing.Carli was invited to go to a dear friend's house yesterday and decorate a gingerbread house. It made it through the night, but quickly became the kids breakfast this morning! Jack found a plastic candy cane to nibble on. But when that didn't work so well...He found out that markers were more satisfying.
Can you tell who was in a bad mood????

Carli took this of Jack playing with the singing snowmen that Grandma sent.
He does the cute little arm thing a couple of times in the video, but does it a lot with he isn't being filmed!

5 of us are all snug and cozy in the Jacobs House. The presents are wrapped. The ham for dinner tomorrow is in the fridge. The cards have been sent and the goodies to friends have been distributed. The kids rented a movie last night to help them pass the day.
Where is Jon? Out buying my Christmas present of course! I love my last- minute- shopper- husband! He makes me smile!!!

Home!

My Jonny is home safely. He went to San Francisco on business on Tues. and was gonna fly home today. He made it as far as Seattle and then the rest of his flight was cancelled due to the weather. He decided to rent a car and drive back! It took him a lot longer than usual but when he walked in the door, in relief, I said a prayer of thanks to the Lord! (The funny part is that the airline that cancelled was Alaska Airlines.- You think that would make a difference in this kind of weather.) Anyway, I am off to spend some cuddle time with my big scientist guy while watching The Mummy 3!
Hope you have a warm and cozy night too!

Done!

I love Christmas cards! I love making them, I LOVE getting them! If I get nothing Christmas morning, but have gotten tons of Christmas cards before, I would be totally happy! They are my little treasures! (That was also a hint for the theme of our cards this year!)

You should recieve your Christmas card in 3-5 business days!

Whew! It feels good to check that off my list.

Christmas Cookies

When I was growing up my mother had this cook book. (Its from 1983)I think that we made just about 90% of the cookies in it at one time or another. I remember every year she would make these cookies called Rudolph's Antlers. Every year we would forget about them until we saw them cooling in the fridge. Every year my mouth would drool just waiting to eat them. I have made them every year since before the kids were born. If I make no other cookie, I will certainly make these. I guess you could say they have somewhat become tradition in the Jacobs' home. They are so simple yet so yummy!
Here is some Christmas goodness from T~

1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup butterscotch pieces
2 cups chow mien noodles
12 maraschino cherries, halved

In a saucepan, melt the butterscotch and chocolate chips over low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in chow mein noodles. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a waxed paper lined baking sheet, making v-shaped cookies about 2 inches long. Place a cherry halve in the center of each. Chill in the fridge 1 to 2 hours or till firm. Makes 24 cookies. Enjoy and don't blame me for the extra weight you gain this Christmas! LOL!

Don't Believe Everything You Read!

road Pictures, Images and Photos

Has anyone seen the front page of the newspaper today? If you haven't go HERE.
Jon and I were laughing at how much he was mis-quoted.
And just for the record, we moved away cuz we got a schmokin' hawt deal on the house and land, NOT because of traffic congestion. (Didn't even realize that was an option!)

All Decked Out!

I do love the house when it is decked out for Christmas and cozy, but this year I really struggled to decorate it. It was a lot of work and I decorated it in between taking kids to school, picking them up gvig the baby naps and changing poopy diapers, and taking the older kids to piano lessons. Whew! I am bushed thinking about it. Well since friends and family don't get up to see us around the holidays, here is the house all prettied up!

Well- if you can believe it- I did do one project that I thunk up all by myself!!!

(usually I just copy others projects, like in THIS post!)

(Yup! I made it from book pages just like the wreath)

It didn't turn out quite like my vision, but close and I don't know if i'm lovin the blue ribbon, so that might change. But I do like it! AND- it lights up? (ta da!)

I challenge YOU to post your favorite Christmas Decor.

(I think I might do some other Christmas -challege posts too later on!)

I don't know about you, but festive decor and good music, company and food really help me get into the holiday spirit and what we are truly celebrating at this time of year!

Kid Funny!

After the Primary Program (a couple weeks ago) the kids did so well that they all got a baggie with a cookie and a candy bar in it. I told the kids that they could eat their treats on the way home (I mean- come on, like they are gonna wait until they get home anyway!) Anyway, Bridger informed me that since he ate all of his cookie, he was now able to eat his candy bar (for dessert). That kid sure takes after his mom!!! That's my boy, Bridger!!!

We Interupt this Christmas Music....

shopping Pictures, Images and Photos

When you go Christmas shopping, do you get confused and think that you are out buying gifts for yourself instead? Apparently I did. I was out and found the Twilight Soundtrack while at Target and thought that it would be nice to support the movie so that maybe they will have a better budget next time. LOL. I saw that there was only 2 left, so I snatched it up. I got to say that I am LOVIN" it. Does this song by Iron and Wine remind anyone else of a Chris Issac song? (You seriously can't be breathing and not like Chris Issac!- oh! Did I just date myself???) I put some of the music on my playlist for a day or 2 for all to enjoy!
